Training Women Tourist Guides in Karamoja

Over 50 women, specifically youth between the age of 17 to 27, were equipped with knowledge in tourism with the overall aim of increasing job opportunities amongst them in the tourism sector.

The main goal was to  create a community of skilled and competent youth tourist guides that will contribute to the promotion and sustainable tourism development in Uganda.

Proceedings

1. The women received both class and field training.
2. The women were given certificates upon completion of the training.
3. The “Karamoja Women Tourist Guides Association” was formed with leaders elected and given responsibilities.
4. The Women were profiled in both USAGA’s database and online portal.
